Summary

The article is devoted to the study of the role, necessity and expediency of public organizations involving in the implementation of the state policy on prevention and counteraction to domestic violence. The study focuses on the peculiarities of cooperation between state institutions and non-state public organizations in this area, on problems and achievements in fighting manifestations of domestic aggression. The attention is drawn to the fact that the most actual practice of domestic violence countering has special non-state formations. They are legal clinics that combine the signs of non-state institutions and structural subdivisions of higher educational institutions.

There are a number of legal clinics today that are registered as public organizations. A special form of work on domestic violence preventing, that is spread by legal clinics, is conducting classes with youth under the “Practical Law” program, which promote early prevention of domestic violence and legal education of Ukrainian youth regarding tolerant family coexistence.

Another specific type of public formations that are specifically dedicated to the victims of domestic violence are crisis and rehabilitation centers for combating violence in Ukrainian families, which, according to their organizational and legal status, have certain characteristics. Although many scholars do not connect the existence of crisis and rehabilitation centers with public formations. Thus, the creation of crisis and rehabilitation centers in Ukraine in public organizations is not accidental, as Ukraine at the present stage is not able to finance the necessary amount of specialized institutions for victims of domestic violence, and therefore it is very necessary to involve charitable organizations and patrons in this business, and here is the need for additional financing from non-state sources and, accordingly, creation of centers in public organizations.

It should be emphasized that only with the close cooperation of the aforementioned public and non-state organizations one can expect positive changes in the implementation of the current legislation in the sphere of domestic violence struggling (preventing and counteracting) in modern Ukrainian families.
